The Central Texas Intergroup office is often the first place a person suffering from alcohol related problems calls or shows up for AA help.  In addition, Central Texas Intergroup is a vital AA service office that represents a partnership among groups in the community.  Central Texas Integroup carries out common functions that are best handled by a centralized office and exists to aid the AA groups in carrying the AA message to the alcoholic who still suffers.  Services include:

  • Respond to phone or walk-in requests for help from alcoholics
  • Maintain AA meeting listings and distribute lists
  • Stock and sell AA literature
  • Serve as a communication center for participating groups
  • Arrange systems for groups to exchange speakers
  • Coordinate efforts of intergroup committees
  • Provide information on treatment facilities, hospitals and sober living facilities
  • Handle requests for information from media
  • Cooperate with local, district and area committees
  • Maintain communication (not affiliations) with community and alcoholism professionals
